The General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679)(GDPR) was adopted on 27 April 2016 and came into effect on 25 May 2018 with the objective to strengthen and unify data protection for all individuals within the European Union. GDPR is considered as the biggest change in data protection for 20 years and organisationsshould take appropriate measures to understand, prepare and update policies and procedures to comply with the new regulation. Businesses face increasingly complex and difficult challenges associated with collecting, storing, disclosing, and securing information and data systems.
